The Assassin's Creed Unity leak from the game tester that revealed the existence of some mysterious game mode where you could revisit chapters from the series' past has apparently sprung again, this time bringing with it a neat gameplay video.

The original Assassin's Creed video game's main hero, Altair, as well as Assassin's Creed 2's Ezio, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag's Edward Kenway, and Aveline from Assassin's Creed: Liberation are all among the characters playable in the new and unannounced Rift mode.

The Rift mode challenges players to race through unique maps, collecting glyphs and trying to beat the times set by other players' ghosts, in a sort of platformer-like experience. At the end of the round, players are told how much data they collected and the amount of currency they earned during the run.

The intriguing game mode looks like it will feature more Assassins and Templars and will span much more time periods than just the French Revolution Paris locale shown so far.

While many will no doubt regard this as tacked-on irrelevant content, there are surely at least as many who will find the change of pace from the main game a nice treat from Ubisoft.

Assassin's Creed Unity is currently scheduled to come out on October 28, headed to the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.
