The development team at Ubisoft is announcing that a new update for Assassin's Creed Unity is at the moment being deployed on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One and is designed to fix some game issues and to eliminate the requirement to use the Companion App in order to get access to some of the content gamers can find in the title's world.

The patch is designed to make sure that the Find Leon mission objective is offered to all players and that weapons and rewards remain unlocked for the duration of the campaign.

The official announcement from Ubisoft also states, "Additionally, we will be unlocking all content exclusive to Initiates and the Companion App, including both blue and gold chests. Players can still progress on the Companion App, they just will no longer be required to complete content to unlock in-game chests."

The PC version of patch 5 for Assassin's Creed Unity is set to be offered tomorrow and will deliver a range of other fixes for the game, including some for performance and general stability.

Gamers will be very satisfied to hear that they no longer have to use the Companion App for Assassin's Creed Unity, which was mostly seen as an annoyance by the long-term fans of the franchise and as an attempt to get more money from them.

Assassin's Creed Unity was a disaster at launch for Ubisoft

The new open world title had some major problems when it was first introduced, ranging from atrocious frame rates on home consoles to major problems with character faces.

Since then, the development team at Ubisoft has deployed some big patches for the title and most of the issues are gone, allowing players to enjoy their Assassin's Creed Unity experience.

The problematic launch window has prompted the publisher to announce that it was scrapping long-term DLC plans for the game and that it was giving one completed pack for free to those who got the Season Pass.

The new Assassin's Creed Unity is supposed to take gamers to London for a new adventure and will be launched in the fall of this year, although no official announcement about it has yet been made by Ubisoft.
