Ubisoft is fixing other issues besides gameplay ones

Ubisoft confirms that it's just released a patch for Assassin's Creed Unity on the PS4 to fix the microtransaction issues encountered by players, while actual users have found a workaround to improve the game's framerate, albeit temporarily.

Assassin's Creed Unity finally rolled out at the beginning of the week, and millions of franchise fans flocked to the new game, as well as to its last-gen companion, Assassin's Creed Rogue. Unfortunately for them, Unity has been plagued by quite a lot of issues across all of its platforms, i.e. PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

These problems ranged from drops in framerate, to wonky animations, clipping, errors with the stealth and exploration systems, and much more, prompting a fierce backlash against Ubisoft.

A new patch is available but doesn’t fix performance

The company has since explained that it's trying to solve all the major issues, but so far, it seems that its focus is on something else, as it confirms, through a now-deleted post on the game's Facebook page, via NeoGAF, that a fresh patch is available for Assassin's Creed Unity on the PS4, which fixes issues with microtransactions.

In case you forgot, Ubisoft also included a special kind of currency in the new game called Helix Credits, which can be purchased via microtransactions from the online stores of each platform, i.e. uPlay, PS Store, or Xbox Live Marketplace, for real-world cash.

Apparently, some users encountered problems after paying for the actual Helix credits, as they didn't receive the necessary amount in the game.

The patch is only available for the PS4 version of Unity, although in the deleted post Ubisoft confirms that an update is also on the way for the PC and Xbox One editions of the game.

Meanwhile, users found a workaround for the framerate issues

While Ubisoft is focusing on fixing the microtransactions via official patches, Assassin's Creed Unity players have found a temporary workaround to the many framerate issues that plague the game across all of its platforms.

Apparently, turning off the online connection on consoles or running the game via Uplay in offline mode on PC can help boost the framerate.

Bear in mind that, by doing so, you won't be able to access the online stores nor the actual cooperative mode that's arguably one of the biggest features in the new action-adventure experience.

As of yet, however, there's no word on when actual gameplay glitches will be solved by Ubisoft, so expect to hear more in the near future.
