14 DAY TRIAL // After confirming to the world that the next game in the Assassin's Creed series is called Syndicate, Ubisoft now shares a few more information about the two main protagonists, brother and sister duo Jacob and Evie Frye, as well as their different equipment and combat preferences.
Assassin's Creed Syndicate was rumored for quite some time and developer Ubisoft started teasing its reveal last week. After the leak of quite a few different details, the game got its announcement on Tuesday, alongside a cinematic trailer, a gameplay demonstration video, and quite a lot of different information.
Jacob and Evie's combat preferences and equipment get detailed
First up, as mentioned above, there are two main protagonists: Jacob and Evie Frye, a brother and sister duo bent on uniting the gangs of Victorian London against their oppressors and the Templar order.
You can pick between them while roaming around the city, but during certain story missions, you'll have to play as one or the other, depending on the plot's requirements.
Jacob is described by Ubisoft as a charismatic brawler and a hand-to-hand combat expert. He wields the trademark assassin gauntlet on one hand, complete with the hidden blade and poison darts, not to mention an all-new rope launcher that helps him quickly scale up buildings. He also employs a pair of brass knuckles, allowing him to take down multiple foes at once in multi-kill maneuvers.
Evie is oriented towards stealth, according to Ubisoft, but the publisher isn't ready quite yet to share more details about her own equipment or specific gameplay mechanics. You can expect at least the rope launcher and the hidden blade to be in her arsenal, considering they're essential to any Assassin's Creed game and to Syndicate in particular.
The new title launches on October 23 worldwide for PS4 and Xbox One, and later this fall for the PC platform. You can expect to hear more about the action adventure title at E3 2015 next month.
