Ubisoft has just revealed the next game in its Assassin's Creed franchise, called Assassin's Creed: Revelations, which will be released this November and playable at next month's E3 conference.

The Assassin's Creed franchise is definitely one of Ubisoft's most important series, managing to sell over 28 million units worldwide since the debut of the first title, back in 2007.

Now, the French company isn't slowing down and has announced the new game in the series, Assassin's Creed: Revelations.

After a fair bit of teasing started this week, the company finally showcased the new title, which is developed by Ubisoft Montreal alongside a wide array of other internal Ubisoft studios, including its Bucharest, Singapore or Quebec divisions, as well as Annecy or Massive Entertainment.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations will deliver the final chapter in the Ezio trilogy, meaning it will focus once more on Ezio Auditore da Firenze, the protagonist of Assassin's Creed 2 and last year's Brotherhood.

The assassin, now grizzled and much older than in the last two titles, will follow the steps of his mentor, Altair, the hero of the first Assassin's Creed game.

"In Assassin's Creed Revelations, master assassin Ezio Auditore walks in the footsteps of his legendary mentor, Altaïr, on a journey of discovery and revelation," Ubisoft says. "It is a perilous path - one that will take Ezio to Constantinople, the heart of the Ottoman Empire, where a growing army of Templars threatens to destabilize the region."

Brotherhood players will be thrilled to hear that Revelations is going to once again feature the multiplayer mode, which has been "refined and expanded, with more modes, more maps and more characters that allow players to test their assassin skills against others from around the world."

Desmond, the actual character that controls Ezio, will also be featured, with "revolutionary gameplay" that will allow him to "decipher the mysteries of his past and gain insight into the future."

"Delivering the final chapter of the Ezio trilogy is an important milestone in the Assassin's Creed franchise for us and for our fans," said Alexandre Amancio, creative director at Ubisoft Montreal. "Assassin's Creed Revelations includes lots of new features and some significant surprises. We can't wait to show our fans what we have in store at E3 this year."

Assassin's Creed: Revelations will be out for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in November, but, until then, you can check out the screenshot released by Ubisoft above and the cover of Game Informer magazine, depicting both the older Ezio and his ancestor, Altair.
