Ubisoft has finally acknowledged that Assassin’s Creed: Revelations will be getting a downloadable map pack later this month, in the form of the Mediterranean Traveler one.

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations was eagerly awaited by millions of fans because it promised to bring a conclusion to the adventures of Ezio Auditore, the protagonist of the last two games in the series.

While the game delivered on its promises, it didn’t really stand out amidst the array of huge releases that appeared at the same time as the action adventure title.

Now, in order to spice things up in Revelations’ multiplayer, Ubisoft has confirmed that it will be releasing the Mediterranean Traveler map pack, which brings six new levels through which players can run around and assassinate one another.

“The Mediterranean Traveler Map Pack extends the Assassin’s Creed Revelations multiplayer experience with the addition of six multiplayer maps, each introducing new gameplay opportunities through their varied terrain, perches and hideouts,” Ubisoft revealed.

Assassin’s Creed fans already knew about this DLC, however, as retailers like GameStop already listed the map pack last month, right after the Ancestors add-on was released by Ubisoft for the game.

In terms of the actual maps, they range from new ones based on Constantinople and the Middle East, but also include older levels from 2010’s Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood.

“Players can journey to the majestic holy city of Jerusalem, the opulent imperial district of Constantinople and the colorful mercantile district of Dyers. Fans of the franchise can also revisit favorite Italian Renaissance maps from Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood specifically requested by Assassin’s Creed players to be included in the pack. To start, players will explore the historic city of Firenze (Florence), then travel to the mountains of San Donato and visit night-time Siena with its carnival lights, talented performers and deadly hiding spots.”

The Mediterranean Traveler Map Pack will be released on January 24, on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 for $10 (€10) or 800 MS Points.
