Ubisoft has released Assassin's Creed Pirates in the iTunes App Store, a strategy game for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad priced at $4.99 / €4.49 where you fight in real-time naval battles all over the Caribbean Sea.

Players choose their weapons and acquire iconic boats of the Golden Age of Piracy with a mission to destroy their enemies and become a pirate legend. Boats “range from the smallest gunboat to the Man O’War floating fortress,” according to Ubisoft.

Assassin's Creed Pirates requires a relatively new device to run: “...this application is only compatible with iPhone 4S and higher. We can not guarantee a satisfying gaming experience on iPhone 4,” according to the French gaming studio.

In order to download Assassin's Creed Pirates you’ll also need iOS 7 installed, so if you’re rocking a lower firmware version, you’ll need to upgrade to install this game. Also helps knowing that the game is available in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Russian.
