The team at 20th Century Fox working with Ubisoft on the Assassin’s Creed movie says that it is expecting to launch the final product on May 22 of 2015 in theaters all over the world.

The information, cited by IGN, means that actual shooting on the movie based on the video games franchise should start later this year and wrap up by the summer of 2014.

Production of the Assassin’s Creed movie is being handled by New Regency, with Michael Fassbender acting as the producer of the project and as leading actor.

He is best known for his performances in Prometheus, Shame and Inglorious Basterds.

Michael Lesslie, a British born playwright, is handling the script.

No information on the plot of the Assassin’s Creed movie has yet been released and it’s unclear whether it will tie in with an actual game from Ubisoft.
