The screenplay upcoming for the Assassin's Creed movie will be written by a relative novice in the field – Michael Lesslie – who previously worked only on short films like Skirt or Heavy Metal Drummer.

Ubisoft confirmed that its hugely successful Assassin's Creed franchise would receive a movie adaptation last year and even revealed that noted actor Michael Fassbender would play the leading role.

Now, a few more details have surfaced on the web, this time with CVG saying that the screenplay for the upcoming movie will be written by Michael Lesslie.

Lesslie has previously worked only on different short films, ranging from Skirt to Heavy Metal Drummer or the intriguingly titled "Airlock, or How to Say Goodbye in Space."

No other details have been revealed, so it's unclear on what storyline Lesslie might base the movie on, as the franchise has already seen several different protagonists, ranging from Desmond to Altair, Ezio, or Connor.

You can expect to hear much more about the Assassin's Creed movie project soon enough, as it appears to have been fast tracked late last year to enter production as soon as possible.
