The mouse and keyboard, while still supported, don't handle that well

Ubisoft has shared a few more details about its upcoming Assassin’s Creed III title, saying that it’s probably better for PC gamers to play it with a controller instead of a mouse and keyboard.

Assassin’s Creed III has already gotten lots of people excited, as it introduces Connor, a new protagonist who’ll go through all sorts of adventures during a new historical period, that of the American Revolution.

We’ve already heard lots of details about the upcoming game, including the fact that Connor will interact with many American political leaders and shape the events that led to the revolution of the colonists against the British Empire.

Now, Ubisoft has talked about the game’s PC version, which handles much better with a controller instead of a mouse and keyboard setup, at least according to its Creative Director, Alex Hutchinson.

"We're definitely supporting PC, we love PC, but I think it'll be PC with a controller,” he told GameSpy in regards to the PC edition of Assassin’s Creed III.

“I don't see us investing hugely in a mouse and keyboard setup. I think if you want to play on PC and you want to play Assassin's Creed, you have a controller."

Ubisoft confirmed shortly afterwards that the traditional mouse and keyboard control scheme found in previous games would still be present, much to the delight of many people who’ve gotten used to it, but still reminds them that gameplay will be more practical with a controller.

Hutchinson also promised that lots of changes would be present in the game, largely because, by the time the game is released, Ubisoft will have worked on it for three years, the longest development period since the original Assassin’s Creed game.

The director emphasized this by saying that he and the teams at Ubisoft want to “ship Assassin's Creed 3.5, not just Assassin's Creed 3."

The actual game is out at the end of October for the PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii U platforms.
