Ubisoft has confirmed Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation for the PlayStation Vita, a spinoff game based on the full-fledged AC3, which stars, for the first time in the series, a female protagonist named Aveline.
Assassin’s Creed games have delivered some impressive experiences in recent years but, with the upcoming Assassin’s Creed 3, Ubisoft will bring not just a high definition experience on the PC, PS3, Xbox 360 or Nintendo Wii U, but also a special portable release for the PlayStation Vita in the form of Liberation.
The new action adventure game delivers the standard AC experience, taking place in New Orleans and the surrounding Louisiana area, and stars Aveline, a female protagonist that tries to protect the freedom of its inhabitants in front of the invading Spanish forces.
“The year is 1765. As the events leading up to the American Revolution heat up in the north, Spanish forces plan to take control of Louisiana in the south – but they have yet to reckon with Aveline, a deadly Assassin who will use every weapon and ability in her arsenal to win freedom for her land and her people. Whether silently eliminating her enemies with slow-motion chain kills or luring them into deadly traps, Aveline strikes mortal fear into the hearts of those who stand in her way,” Ubisoft’s description reads.
Aveline’s quest takes her through all sorts of adventures and territories, from New Orleans to the surrounding swamps or ancient Mayan ruins.
