14 DAY TRIAL // After the major leak from yesterday, Ubisoft has decided to reveal the official cover of its upcoming Assassin’s Creed III game. It showcases the game’s Native American protagonist and confirms that the title will take place during the American Revolution, thus introducing a new side of the conflict between Assassins and Templars.
The Assassin’s Creed series has been growing a bit stale in recent times, as yearly installments began inducing franchise fatigue among truly dedicated fans.
With Assassin’s Creed III, Ubisoft wants to once again make people notice the game, by introducing a new protagonist and a fresh historical setting.
We’ve already seen the first image from the game and heard a few details yesterday, thanks to a leak, but now Ubisoft has decided to make things official by presenting the cover of the game.
As you can see above, it’s similar to the artwork seen yesterday, featuring the new Native American protagonist in all his glory as he’s killing a British redcoat during the American Revolution.
Official details are set to appear next week, on March 5, but Game Informer magazine has presented a few new pieces of information, alongside the cover of its next issue.
According to the mag, Assassin’s Creed III has been in development since the second game in the series, when a senior team decided to plan out the franchise’s next step, while titles like Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood or Revelations were being released.
After three years, the game is almost ready to showcase a new fight between the Assassins, led by this new protagonist, and the Templars, who are supposedly infiltrated among the British forces that are battling the American colonialists.
You can expect some more details to be made available early next week.
The final game, according to previous statements from Ubisoft, will be out for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on October 30.
