The cover and release date for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed III game have been leaked before their actual release, confirming plenty of rumors that the title’s set during the American Revolution and features a new protagonist of Native American descent.

Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series has been around for quite some time, seeing the release of plenty of new titles over the years.

Sadly, the franchise has gotten a bit stale, as after the original game that focused on the Crusades with protagonist Altair, three titles followed that were set during the Renaissance, starring Ezio Auditore.

For the all-new Assassin’s Creed III, Ubisoft is preparing plenty of new things, including a new hero whose adventures are set in another time period.

Now, it seems that the details about the game have been leaked ahead of time, as website Kotaku has published an impressive image that could be the cover for Assassin’s Creed III.

As you can see above, it shows the game’s new protagonist, who, at least judging by his garments and weapons, is almost certain to be a Native American.

The Continental flag behind him also pretty much confirms that Assassin’s Creed III is set during the American Revolution.

What’s more, it seems that website Game Informer published a special image that promotes its Assassin’s Creed III coverage before it was supposed to. As you can see in the image to the left, it shows George Washington’s famous Delaware crossing, only this time there’s a helpful assassin showing him where to land and take the British forces by surprise.

As such, it’s pretty obvious that the new game will take players behind the scenes of the American Revolution, when it appears on October 30.

Ubisoft has begun its own teasing campaign but nothing concrete has been revealed as of yet.

Expect the official confirmation of the game to appear either later this week or at the beginning of the next one.
