Barely has Ubisoft begun accepting pre-orders for its upcoming Assassin’s Creed III and already the French company has revealed that the game is on track to become the most anticipated game in its history.

The Assassin’s Creed series has become extremely popular in recent times but, thanks to the yearly installments, many people were growing weary of the franchise, especially since it kept the same protagonist, Ezio Auditore, throughout the last three games.

Now, with Assassin’s Creed III introducing a whole new protagonist, in the form of Connor, and a new historical setting, the American Revolution, it seems that interest has once again grown to new heights.

According to publisher, the new title is set to become the most pre-ordered game in the history of Ubisoft.

In the same time period, Assassin’s Creed III has 10 times more pre-orders than the previous Revelations, and has already reached Brotherhood’s total number of pre-orders, at least in the U.S.

"On October 30th players will experience the biggest game launch in Ubisoft's history with the highly anticipated release of Assassins Creed III," said Tony Key, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Ubisoft. "With a development cycle of three years, Assassins Creed III is the true next-generation experience of the Assassins Creed brand."

If this trend continues, then Assassin’s Creed III will overtake Revelations sometime in June, well ahead of its October release.

"The production value of the game, combined with the biggest marketing commitment we've ever made, will make Assassins Creed III the highest-selling Assassin's Creed game ever," Key continued. "Additionally, the new setting and hero makes this the perfect time to jump into the series for anyone that has not previously played an Assassin's Creed game."

Bear in mind that all these stats are just based on data from the U.S., and you can be sure that gamers from Europe and other continents are more than eager to get the new game.
