Ubisoft announced that its new franchise "Assassin's Creed" has won the Best Action/adventure Game distinction as part of the Game Critics Awards: Best of E3 2006. The Game Critics Awards are decided by representatives from 37 leading media outlets covering the video games industry.

From the first glimpse of its big gorgeous graphics through its Prince of Persia-meets-Thief gameplay, Assassin's Creed provides an excellent taste of what the PS3 can and will deliver. Ubisoft's Montreal studio which is renowned for developing best-selling franchises such as Prince of Persia and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell. The Assassin's Creed franchise will combine original gameplay, top-notch graphics, and an immersive and sophisticated storyline which will deliver a new and captivating action gaming experience.
