Ubisoft is confident that these locations are boring and won't appear in future titles

The Creative Director of the upcoming Assassin’s Creed III title, Alex Hutchinson, has just shared his thoughts on some of the proposed settings for future games in the series, saying that some of those desired by fans, like Japan or Egypt, don’t make sense.

Assassin’s Creed games have delighted fans not just because of their stunning gameplay experience but also because they explored all sorts of historical settings, from the Crusades to the Renaissance, or the American Revolution, like in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed III.

According to Hutchinson, who talked with OXM, you won’t see games go to settings like feudal Japan or Egypt, and most certainly won’t take place during World War II.

“People on the internet suggest the most boring settings. The three most wanted are WWII, feudal Japan and Egypt. They’re kind of the three worst settings for an AC game,” he said.

A setting that might make sense, according to the Ubisoft designer, is India, as it provides a unique culture that hasn’t been represented in games.

Do you agree with him or do you think an Assassin’s Creed can work in Japan or during World War II?
