A couple of new reports about another Assassin's Creed game set to appear this year have surfaced online, saying that Ubisoft wants to debut on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 last-gen consoles a project called Assassin's Creed: Comet.

Ubisoft has already confirmed last week that it's working on a brand new Assassin's Creed game called Unity, which is set to debut this fall for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One platforms. The publisher's hand was forced, effectively, by a leak a few days earlier, complete with screenshots from the next title.

Now, a set of leaks has once again appeared, this time concerning yet another Assassin's Creed game that's set to debut this fall, but only for the PS3 and Xbox 360 last-gen consoles, apparently.

First up, there was a report from Gameblog, which claims that the title is called Assassin's Creed: Comet and once again takes place in the Atlantic Ocean, in and around the Caribbean islands, but also the East coast of America and possibly even Europe.

According to the French website, the new game takes place in 1758 and follows an English sailor called Shay who betrays the captain of his ship, none other than Adewale, the first mate of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag protagonist Edward Kenway and the hero of his own standalone expansion, Freedom Cry.

Shay will go on to lead his own ship and once again engage in the impressive naval warfare mechanic seen in Assassin's Creed 3 and 4.

The name Comet, while sounding weird, is chosen with a purpose, as apparently in 1758 Hayley's Comet was spotted and that could tie into the sci-fi plot of the Assassin's Creed saga.

Kotaku poured over the new report and added new facts confirmed by its own sources. Apparently Adewale will be present in the new game, but so will Haytham Kenway, the son of Black Flag's Edward Kenway and the father of Assassin's Creed 3's Connor.

What's more, it seems that Shay will become a Templar Knight, instead of an Assassin brother, although details about the story are sketchy right now, besides the fact that players will get to traverse the Atlantic and even go to locations like New York.

As of right now, Ubisoft hasn't commented on the new reports but, considering the previous situation with Unity, it might opt to once again release a small teaser trailer confirming the existence of Assassin's Creed: Comet and promising a full reveal in the following months.
