Assassin's Creed Chronicles has just received some fresh story details, confirming just what events will be covered in each of the three chapters that will appear throughout the year. Each title will be a distinctive experience but they'll be tied together narratively.

The Assassin's Creed series has seen an influx of new releases in recent years, with big titles like Unity and Rogue having launched last fall and receiving different reactions from the fanbase. A smaller release was promised for fans this year, in the form of Assassin's Creed Chronicles China, while the full-fledged Assassin's Creed Victory is set to debut in fall.

Earlier this week, however, Ubisoft surprised fans with the announcement that Chronicles is now a trilogy and that it would receive two more chapters in addition to China, in the form of India and Russia.

New story details shed some light on the plot of the new titles

After having revealed some information in the actual announcement, Ubisoft now offers some story details that go in depth and showcase the general plot lines in each of the three games.

"Players will journey to three distinct civilizations and time periods throughout history including the Ming dynasty at the start of its downfall, the Sikh Empire as it prepares for war in India and the aftermath of the Red October revolution. Each chronicle stands on its own with a unique setting, art style, story and Assassin, but is tied together narratively," Ubisoft mentions in a statement.

China gives players the chance to control Shao Jun as she returns to her homeland after having interacted with Ezio Auditore in the Assassin's Creed Embers short film. India follows Arbaaz Mir and the conflict between the Sikh Empire and the East India Company in 1841. Last but not least, Russia focuses on Nikolai Orelov, who completes one final mission right where the tsar and his family are held by the Bolsheviks.

All titles will offer great experiences and it's going to be interesting to see how they'll be tied to each other from a narrative point of view.
