Ubisoft has issued a statement emphasizing that, while Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag is scheduled to appear on the PC, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U as well as the PlayStation 4 and "other next gen consoles," it won't appear at the same time on all of them.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag was revealed to the world last month and Ubisoft quickly mentioned that the game would appear at the end of October for PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii U.

Soon after, the publisher also mentioned that the game was also going to appear for the recently unveiled PlayStation 4 as well as other "next generation consoles," hinting at the all-but-confirmed Xbox 720.

Earlier today, the game's creative director, Jean Guesdon, mentioned that the title would ship across all platforms at the same time, effectively confirming that both the PS4 and Xbox 720 would appear before the end of October.

Ubisoft has now made a statement to VG247, saying that the same ship date only applies to PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U.

As such, it's still unclear just when the PlayStation 4 and the next Xbox will be released.
