The development team at Ubisoft working on Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag says that naval battles will not make an appearance in the multiplayer side of the game.

Tim Browne, the leading multiplayer game designer, tells VG247 that, “We’ve looked at it and we’ve considered it. We seriously considered it. We think it would be cool, but at the same time we tried it, and for technical reasons it’s impossible.”

Apparently, it took two and a half years for an entire team to create the naval battle mechanics that will be part of the single-player section of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag.

The multiplayer of the game will focus on the assassin experience and will require quick thinking and decisions from the player.

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag will be out in late October in North America and November 1 in Europe.
