Assassin's Creed 3 is going to receive the first chapter in its special Tyranny of King Washington expansion, titled Infamy, on February 19, for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, and later in the year for the Wii U.

Assassin's Creed 3 came out at the end of last year across many different platforms, ranging from the PS3 and Xbox 360 to the PC and Wii U, and Ubisoft has already released a couple of DLC packs, in the form of the Hidden Secrets and the Battle Hardened add-ons.

Now, long-awaited story-based expansion The Tyranny of King Washington is getting ready to see the release of its first chapter – The Infamy.

Ubisoft has confirmed that this first episode in the three-part expansion will be released on February 19 for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 versions of Assassin's Creed 3.

"In the first episode of the Tyranny of King Washington series, our hero, Connor Kenway, awakens from an unsettling dream to find that, despite his efforts to deliver justice in the newly-founded United States of America, a new king has been crowned – George Washington. The Infamy will take gamers through the beginning of the journey to dethrone this new king."

After The Infamy, two more episodes will be released by Ubisoft that add more insight into the alternate history envisioned by the expansion and conclude its events.

All three parts are covered by the special Assassin's Creed 3 Season Pass, meaning those who get the special package will receive them for free, not to mention the Lost Missions and Battle Hardened add-ons for no extra charge.

Assassin's Creed 3: The Tyranny of King Washington – The Infamy will be released for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 on February 19 for $9.99/€9.99/800 MS Points. PS3 owners in Europe, however, need to wait until February 20 to get the add-on.

All DLC is also heading to the Wii U version of Assassin's Creed 3 but Ubisoft can't say when exactly owners of the new console are able to download the add-ons.
