Search powerhouse Google has continued its end of the year information dump and is now revealing the most searched for video game related terms for the past 12 months, with Assassin’s Creed 3 unexpectedly taking the crown from bigger titles.

The full list includes, as quoted by MCV:

Assassin’s Creed 3 - Ubisoft, 2012
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 - Activision, 2012
Borderlands 2 - 2K Games, 2012
FIFA 12 - EA Sports, 2011
FIFA 13 - EA Sports, 2012
Grand Theft Auto V - Rockstar, 2013
Halo 4 - Microsoft, 2012
Mass Effect 3 - Electronic Arts, 2012
Skylanders - Activision, 2011, 2012
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Bethesda, 2011

The Google trends are not a predictor for the actual success of a title, as Activision has reported that Black Ops 2 has sold more than Assassin’s Creed 3.
