Ubisoft shares workaround to prevent this from happening on PS3 or Xbox 360

The recently released Hidden Secrets DLC for Assassin's Creed 3 causes a rather nasty bug that results in either the complete deletion of a player's save game files or in the loss of certain data on the PS3 or Xbox 360.

Ubisoft released the very first downloadable content pack for Assassin's Creed 3 earlier this week, in the form of the Hidden Secrets expansion, which is currently available as a free download for owners of the game's Season Pass.

Sadly, the DLC has apparently been causing a massive glitch in the game, as Ubisoft's community developer, Gabe Graziani, has confirmed on the official forums that a rare bug is causing save game files to be deleted or data to be lost.

The developers are working on a fix for the bug but, as of yet, Ubisoft is advising Assassin's Creed 3 owners to download the DLC first and then start the actual game, instead of putting the download in the background and playing the game until it finishes.

The Hidden Secrets DLC brings three new missions to the game, as well as new single-player costumes and a fresh multiplayer character.
