Assassin’s Creed 3 Diary – There Are Still Glitches

Glitches are still present in Assassin's Creed 3

Assassin’s Creed 3 is a pretty great game, offering many hours of excitement in the single-player campaign and plenty of unforgettable moments in the multiplayer one.

Sadly, even after the day-one patch, there are still many glitches with the open-world action game.

Like with any huge games that run on upgraded graphics engine – this time in the form of the AnvilNext one – Assassin’s Creed 3 has its fair share of bugs.

Sadly, especially since it relies a lot of missions going according to plan or on non-playable characters following a special script, bugs in the recent game result in lots of frustration and retries.

One of the biggest issues I encountered concerned horses. While you’ll still most often than not rely on your feet to get you through the different cities or throughout the frontier, you have the option of whistling for a horse that will arrive in your location in an extremely short time.

While that’s not that impressive, seeing as how a system was done by Red Dead Redemption, actually riding a horse is quite buggy, mainly because the poor animal gets stuck in even the tiniest rocks on the frontier or the smallest inconveniences in actual cities.

Instead of jumping over obstacles, like in RDR, horses will automatically stop in the their tracks, even if you were galloping at full speed.

Another frequent glitch appeared in missions where you needed to follow certain NPCs. They’d often get stuck on ledges or at certain moments in time, so your only chance at getting them back on tracks was restarting the most recent checkpoint.

There are also actual missions where either objectives don’t spawn or the game doesn’t detect the fact that you’re in the required area.

One such case happened during Paul Revere’s “The British are coming” quest, where you needed to visit different settlements on the Frontier and then find the actual houses where the Patriots were hidden. I spent a lot of time circling around the houses before I restarted the whole mission.

Thankfully, the game automatically saves quite often, but these glitches can really wear on your nerves.

Did you encounter any major issues with the game?

Yeah the bugs are killing my gaming buzz. I find myself longing for the little things that were implemented into AC I & II that seem to be missing in the newest installment. For example, no map indication of where hiding places are - which can lead to some pretty long and aggravating chases if you are notorious. In previous games, finding a place to blend was pretty easy since the second you entered conflict the blending spots appear in your mini map ... also - and this is the gripe that sent me to the web looking for a place to vent when I should be playing the game - it can be ridiculously challenging to perform a proper leap of faith from a viewpoint in this game, especially on the Frontier where several layers of leaves can obstruct your view of the ground. And since haystacks don't appear on the map anymore, all you can really do is guestimate your landing ... and if you mess up - well, congrats, because you just killed yourself. * it Ubisoft.

Yes, I remember one specifically on the unusual deer mission I was in the area but it was like i wasn't there I had to restart all over many times until make it work, other thing shouldn't happened I killed a guard while cornered against a wall, the motionless 'corpse' regardless was aware and speaking of my presence with yellow and the red triangles above his head whilst other alive guard was unaware but trapped within a tree but kept walking obviusly going nowhere.

Some secondary missions shouldn't be allowed to be played unitl you reach a certain point, is a spoiling game thing, is like there is no script, you can get ahead of situations so the story feels ruined. In resume there are a lot of bugs most might be to considered small but adding them result on a big fun spoiler.

Regardless this game has a great potential as far as I've go on the campaign, so I hope they fix this bugs soon enough so they release a patch really FAST.

It is extremely laggy even with all background programs off and my computer's specs are better than the minimum specs for AC3.

Yeah, one of m major issues is, i usually love to be as stealthy as i can and when their are templars that are glitched in trees looking at a hiding spot you cant shoot then or rope them out. Like side missions that your not supposed to get detected, thats when their are templars almosst inside trees and wont move i hate that cause i cant kill them they'll just detect me...
