Here's one new board for the AMD fans: the Asrock 970 Pro3, a nice board based on the AM3+ technology and running with the new-generation 8-core CPUs.

This board packs a heap of nice features, which make it suitable for both gaming and productivity in a professional environment. One of the first nifty things catching the potential buyer's attention is the Combo Cooler Retention module, a new and more efficient cooler retention design that is also backward compatible with AM3 and AM2+ heat dissipation units.

The Asrock 970 Pro3 can be loaded with up to 32 GB of DDR3 memory modules and users can overclock them to 2100 MHz, while still being on the safe side. The max clock speed of the memory depends on the installed CPU, though.

As expected, this board boasts a total of 6 USB 3.0 connectors and no less than 6 6GB/s SATA 3 ports for enhanced data transfer speed and available storage connectivity. When it comes to graphics, the Asrock 970 Pro3 can handle both CrossFireX and Quad CrossFireX arrays for massive display capabilities.

With the Asrock XFast suite, users will be able to enhance the performance for LAN connectivity, USB transfer and RAM management for a better experience with games and productivity applications.

Drivers, BIOS and utilities are now available for the Asrock 970 Pro3.
