Aspyr Media is slashing 25% off the original retail price for all of the games sold through its GameAgent digital download service and store. For Mac users, main attractions include Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and futureU, now going for $40.99 and $29.99, respectively.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is the kind of game where you literally step into another guy's shoes. From start to finish (if you can even get there), the game has you facing quite a few interesting plot twists, as well as fast-paced FPS action. However, you'll need to pack some serious hardware to run this baby - special effects include rim-lighting, depth of field, texture streaming, and character self-shadowing. Aspyr itself says that “players are enlisted into one of the most photo-realistic gaming experiences imaginable,” so make sure you pack the specs listed below.

Minimum System Requirements:

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5.4 (Leopard);
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 Ghz;
Memory: 1 GB RAM;
Hard Disk Space: 8.0 GB + 1 GB Swap File;
Video: (ATI) Radeon X1600l; (NVidia) GeForce FX 7300 – Vram: at least 28 MB;
Media Required: DVD-ROM;
Peripherals: Macintosh mouse and keyboard;
Multiplayer: Internet (TCP/IP) or LAN (TCP/IP) play supported Internet plays requires broadband connection.

Supported Video cards include: NVIDIA GeForce 7300, 7600, 8600, 8800, NVIDIA GeForce Quadro FX 4500, ATI Radeon X1600, X1900, HD 2400, HD 2600.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is rated “M” for Mature by the ESRB (Intense Violence, Strong Language, Blood and Gore). Users are advised not to tamper with the process of downloading Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare through Aspyr's GameAgent, since it's quite a large game.

futureU The Prep Game for SAT

futureU consists of six distinctive mini-games that are divided into three main categories featuring hundreds of questions and track-able player progress. Mini-games include Math, Reading, and Writing. The game is grounded in Kaplan curriculum, designed as a complement to traditional SAT study methods.

Math enables players to practice critical math areas such as algebra, geometry, data, statistics, probability, polynomials, and sequences. Reading focuses on refining players’ reading skills, vocabulary, main idea identification, themes and arguments, technique, and recognizing word meanings based on context. Writing has players concentrating on improving their writing skills. In addition, players can engage in a section called “Test Skills” that teaches them about the time management skills necessary for taking the big exam.
