Renowned Mac games publishing label Aspyr Media has confirmed via a special report that the studio is celebrating the month of March with “an unbelievable Mac App Store sale” on four of its most popular titles, including Sid Meier's Civilization IV: Colonization and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

An Austin, Texas-based company, Aspyr Media specializes in porting Windows games to Mac OS X.

As of 2003, the studio owns 60 percent of the Mac entertainment market, and has worked with partners like Universal, Paramount, Warner Bros., LucasArts, Electronic Arts, Activision and Eidos.

It has been in business since 1996 but it has only recently begun porting console games to various platforms. Aspyr is also the distributor of several albums and documentaries.

Michael Rogers, President of Aspyr Media, Inc. says his company has been “thrilled with the response” to their foray in the Mac App Store, having launched its first four games through Apple’s application distribution channel.

“Each of our releases has reached a #1 ranking, and we’re excited to keep the trend going with more big game releases over the coming months,” said Rogers

The respective Mac App Store game releases by Aspyr Media are Sid Meier's Civilization® IV: Colonization; Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare; The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition; Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

“We think everyone should have some kind of March sale, and we’re happy to start the trend!” said Rogers.

Aspyr says it will be offering “huge” discounts through the month of March, in appreciation and celebration of their success with the Apple Mac App Store.

The publisher will be offering each of its Mac App titles at 50% off on every Monday in March, and pledges to offer the same discounted titles through their own eCommerce store.

Additional flash sales will be hosted through Aspyr store’s Facebook and Twitter feeds.
