Gameloft has just announced its highly-acclaimed Asphalt 8: Airborne mobile game has just received a major update on iOS platform. Some of the content included in the update will arrive on Android and Windows Phone, but later on.

The iOS update contains some specific improvements, such as 64-bit support and notification system for Apple Watch, along with widgets.

Moving on to the actual new content included in the update, Gameloft announced that version 1.9.1 brings a brand-new location:

“Master the island of Tenerife, from its tropical beaches to its breathtaking mountains and untamed wilderness, on 4 intense new tracks!”

Some of the new cars will be added in the coming weeks

Moreover, developers have added 8 new cars to Asphalt 8: Airborne, including the Lamborghini Aventador, Audi R8 LMS Ultra and 6 more heart-thumping vehicles, which will be added over the next few weeks.

However, in order to unlock them, you will have to stay tuned and compete in special Time-Limited Events if you want to use them before anyone else.

But that's not all. According to the official changelog, the update also adds exclusive decals, so players can show off their unique style with these new custom options.

Gameloft also confirmed it has revamped multiplayer events, so you will now be able to compete against up to 12 players, instead of 8, in more challenging events for better rewards.

If you don't have the game yet, you can now download Asphalt 8: Airborne for iOS for free via App Store. The game should be fully compatible with all devices powered by iOS 6.1.6 or later.

Keep in mind though that some multiplayer gameplay features might not be available on some iOS devices like iPod touch 4th generation and iPhone 4. It's also worth mentioning that while the game is free, it comes with in-app purchases.
