Well-known mobile game publisher and developer Gameloft has just released a huge update for its amazingly popular racing game Asphalt 8: Airborne.

The smash hit title has been updated on all three major platforms: Android, iOS and Windows Phone. However, the Windows Phone version has received a larger update which brings the game on par when it comes to gameplay features with the other two platforms.

Given the fact that Gameloft launched Asphalt 8: Airborne on Windows Phone operating system much later than the other two versions, Windows Phone fans were missing some features and content was less richer than on Android and iOS.

However, starting with this version of Asphalt 8: Airborne, all players, regardless of the gameplay platform, will have access to the same content with one exception.

It appears that the Asphalt 8: Airborne for iOS comes with Twitch integration. This means that players will be able to connect with the Asphalt community on Twitch.tv to broadcast their gameplay online, share their biggest stunts, or take a look at their rivals’ skills.

Anyway, the Windows Phone version of Asphalt 8: Airborne has received quite a lot of new content in the latest update as well. For example, according to the developers, there's a whole new Asian-inspired racing location.

Players will be able to race in China and discover the Great Wall with their McLaren P1, Ferrari Testarossa or any of the other new dream cars that have been added via this update. Gameloft has confirmed that the newly added Far East: Race event will provide players with 6 new tracks.

But that is not all, as Gameloft has confirmed that new cars will be added aside from those that have already made it in this update. New cars will be added regularly, including the unique 2014 McLaren P1, along with the iconic Ferrari Testarossa, and the powerful Dodge Challenger.

The latest update also includes a brand new soundtrack that will definitely add to the immersion. There are new songs coming from The Crystal Method, Band of Skulls, and Silversun pickups.

Some Leaderboard changes have been made, so after the update is applied, you will probably notice that inactive players will be dropped off the global leaderboard if they haven't played for more than two weeks.

Last but not least, some overall bug fixes and optimizations, along with multiplayer matchmaking improvements have been added in the update as well.

You can now download Asphalt 8: Airborne for Windows Phone 1.0.0.5 for free via Windows Phone Store. The game is now fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up.
