Gameloft tries to gain more users by slashing prices in a repetitive matter

Gameloft’s spectacular racing game Asphalt 8: Airborne is again free to download in the iTunes App Store, following a recent price hike after an identical promotion just a month ago.

It doesn’t take a ping pong medalist to notice the back and forth nature of the price cuts that Gameloft is flashing before our eyes on a bi-monthly basis, likely to draw in as many adopters as possible.

What I don’t understand is why they don’t make the game free until the universe contracts again. I mean, the top in-app purchase is a $9.99/€8.99 Pilot Credit Pack for crying out loud. They can’t spare that extra dollar they score once every two months for the actual binary?

Ranting aside, I will admit Asphalt 8: Airborne does have everything it takes to get your adrenalin level high. Hundreds of feet high.
