Developed by three companies

Three software companies have joined their forces to develop and release an Asian Linux distribution, called Asianux 2.0.

Asianux 2.0 is a team work of China's Red Flag Software, Japan's Miracle Linux and South Korea's HaanSoft. The OS will be launched in Korea and China tommorow and next month, Asianux 2.0 will be available also in Japan.

The operating system for servers, developed by China's Red Flag Software, Japan's Miracle Linux and South Korea's HaanSoft, is due for launch in Korea and China on Thursday, according to a statement on the Asianux Web site. The distribution will not be released in Japan until October. This is the first project to create a unified Linux distribution especially for Asia.

President Jong Jin Baek from Haansoft, President Chris Zhao from Red Flag Software and Vice President Dakashi Kodama from Miracle Linux introduced Asianux and announced the launching schedule of 'Asianux version 2.0' in their three respective countries at the 'Linux World Conference and Expo' exhibition in San Francisco, USA on August 10th 2005.

The companies are planning a road show in Beijing on August 25th and August 26th to promote this new version.. After the road show in Beijing, eight other cities in China are planning to hold a similar road show. After these events the show will be held in Korea and Japan.

The three companies are also launching a project to invite Linux companies from other Asian countries to become new Asianux partners.
