The phenomenon will have global repercussions, and we need to be ready

Within a decade, larger numbers of very severe droughts will begin to severely impact large sectors of Asia. This will have the undesirable effect of jeopardizing the continent's food security, as well as its billions of inhabitants, who make up more than half of the global population

Even now, droughts are becoming increasingly common. But the effects of climate change will considerably boost in number and intensity over the coming years. The end result will be disastrous for both Asia and the rest of the world.

Global food security cannot exist in the current international framework without the contributions made by the Asian continent. In other words, the rest of the world simply does not have the necessary resources to feed the huge landmass and its inhabitants.

As such, the only way forward is to acknowledge the problem and take mitigative measures against global warming and climate change. Otherwise, we'll be eating food grown in the lab, if that.
