The actor took the stage at Lenovo’s launching event and took some attendees by surprise

Lenovo has unveiled a “better way” for tablets that turned out to be personified by the hinge-cum-handle enhanced Yoga slate.

Interestingly enough, the PC manufacturer also announced that it was hiring Ashton Kutcher as product engineer. The job doesn't translate into the actor being some sort of celebrity endorser for the company as Kutcher is actually going to be a part in the developing and marketing of the Yoga line. This includes providing input when it comes to design, software and specifications of the new device.

Kutcher also previously studied biochemical engineering at the University of Iowa, so this part-time job is right up his alley.

Kutcher was the one in charge of introducing the Yoga tablet to the event attendees and he did it in style. Some were actually reminded of the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs and the way he used to do things at a product launch. Oddly enough, Kutcher played Jobs in a recently released autobiographical movie.

Apparently, Ashton Kutcher is a very big fan of technology. For example, he used to be a spokesperson for the Nikon digital photography line. And there’s more. Back in 2011, he was behind setting up a venture fund called A-Grade Investments, which offered starter-up capital to now famous services like Path, Airbnb, Foursquare, Spotify, Uber and SoundCloud.

Lenovo hopes that Kutcher’s enthusiasm will provide the company with fresh insights and perspective into how to perfect their current standards.

Kutcher is not the first celebrity to be hired by tech companies hoping to make their products more attractive to consumers everywhere. BlackBerry hired singer Alicia Keys as creative director, Polaroid chose Lady Gaga for the same job and Intel awarded the title of director of creative innovation to Will.i.am.

Meanwhile, the new Yoga Tablets are out on the market, in 8-inch and 10-inch versions, in case you are curious to check them out.
