Ashton Kutcher Files for Divorce from Demi Moore

Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore were officially separated a little over a year ago but, until just now, neither filed for divorce, even prompting some rumors that they were never legally married to begin with.

The actor has finally pulled the trigger, filing for divorce from Demi, TMZ can confirm.

“34-year-old Ashton filed the docs today in L.A. County Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences. He uses his full legal name ‘Christopher A. Kutcher’,” the celebrity publication reports.

Fans must know that Ashton and Demi’s marriage came crumbling down as word got out that he had cheated on her again, precisely on their wedding anniversary.

It was the second time in as many years that it happened, reports said.

Eventually, after months of refusing to comment on the rumors, Demi announced she had decided to separate from Ashton. She never filed for divorce, though.

“Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ Ashton waited so long because he wanted to give Demi the chance to file first... it was a whole dignity thing. After a year, when Demi showed no signs of making her move, Ashton finally did,” the celebrity e-zine says.

“Ashton and 50-year-old Demi have no children together. They were married in September 2005 and separated in November 2011. According to the docs, the property rights of Ashton and Demi will be worked out later,” TMZ further reports.

As noted above, as the months went by and neither Demi nor Ashton filed the papers, rumblings began that their marriage was never legal.

Other voices online said that they were in no rush to get legally divorced because they had no prenup and could not reach an agreement on how to split the estate.

Yet more voices claimed that Demi was purposely delaying the divorce proceedings so that she could have her “revenge” on Ashton, who had already moved on from the relationship and is dating Mila Kunis.
