You might know and love her as Alice in “The Twilight Saga,” but Ashley Greene is determined to make you remember her years from now. In the latest issue of Lucky magazine, the actress talks about her career and how she's suddenly playing in the big league.

Though some critics would point out that Greene is still a long way from being in the same league as stars like Natalie Portman, Carey Mulligan or Michelle Williams, she believes she's already there, at least as far as demand goes.

All she has to do now is prove that she's worthy of the position she occupies and, of course, that she's able to move past the “Twilight” success.

“Basically I went from 'dying to get a gig' to 'dying to get the gig that everyone wants,' so now I’m in this realm with a lot of highly respected actresses, which is an amazing place to be, but also kind of terrifying. I mean, I think I’m doing all right, but the main focus is trying to solidify my spot in Hollywood,” she says.

She's leading lady material but, at the same time, she has to prove to the world that she's more than just another “Twilight” star.

The challenge ahead of her is immense, Greene concedes, especially since, come next year, there will not be another “Twilight” movie to use as a launching pad.

“Now that it’s ending, there’s so much work to be done. And if I don’t do it, then Twilight‘s all I’m ever going to be known for, as great as it is,” Ashley says.

Another thing the young star is well aware of is how fame can be deceiving and, unfortunately, lead you away from your path because it's so filled with temptations.

She's set not to become the next Lindsay Lohan, even if that means refusing to enjoy all the perks and joys of being a Hollywood star.

“It’s all glitz and glamor in Hollywood, and you want to be part of it. And the deadly thing is that you meet people who do have the money and do have fame and are in a position to not spend every waking moment working toward getting a job, and it’s easy to feel like you can do it too, when really you haven’t earned it,” she says.

“You can either socialize or you can study your script, and luckily I learned that pretty quick!” Ashley boasts.

In the same interview, Greene talks about her latest film, “Butter,” in which she gets to share a kiss onscreen with Olivia Wilde.
