Fans of the “Twilight” films must already know that “New Moon,” the second installment in the franchise is, aside from the third biggest opener of all times in the history of cinema, also more action-packed than the previous film. As such, the question of what stars appearing in it did to keep in shape inevitably arises and stunner Ashley Greene is more than happy to address it in an interview with Us Magazine.

Speaking to the mag at a recent press conference, Greene was very honest in her answer to what she did in order to stay in shape, albeit her publicist did not probably think the same. Apparently, the entire cast pulled 12-hour days on the set and worked like crazy, which meant they had very little time to sit down at the table and have a decent meal, the actress reveals. However, when they did, at least they made sure what they were eating was healthy.

“How did Ashley Greene get fit for ‘New Moon’?” Us Magazine asks. “‘It was really easy,’ the actress, 22, told Us Magazine Saturday at the Magnificent Mile Festival of Lights event in Naperville, Il. ‘We were working 12 hours a day, so it didn’t leave too much time to eat.’ After her response, her publicist nudged her, but Greene didn’t seem to care about her blunt answer. When she did eat, she chose ‘really healthy stuff, which was nice.’” the publication writes in a piece running in its latest issue.

Still, skipping meals was not all to Greene’s toned figure, the actress further explained on the same occasion. As it’s already common knowledge, dieting never pays off on its own and is not a healthy approach in the long run – moreover, it’s not recommended without a healthy workout routine. Greene too learned this on her own, as she had to put in the extra time and effort to work with the personal trainer that was always on set – that the “New Moon” cast is now in better shape is no longer a secret, one may assume.

“‘We had a personal trainer and then we also had fight training,’ she told Us. ‘It was a good four hours a day of training.’ To stay in shape these days, she said she does Pilates, usually six days a week. ‘I do it early in the morning. It wakes you up, and it’s kind of refreshing,’ said Greene, who is headed to London in a few months to begin filming the thriller ‘The Apparition.’ ‘And that is basically it. Sometimes cardio. I am not a big weight person because when I do weights I build muscle mass.’” the US publication further writes.
