Arsenal and Ashley Cole don't quite get along for some time now. Even if the English defender is still part of Arsene Wenger's line-up squad, his relationship with his coach is more than cold. At least that's what English tabloid "The Sun" tells us. According to the above named source, it seems that Ashley Cole's wedding in the weekend to come will miss one important guest. And yes, you guessed right. We're talking about Arsenal's coach Arsene Wenger. The Frenchman was not invited to the wedding, since the player is still angry with his manager.
The whole
argument started out more than a year ago, when Chelsea - actually Jose Mourinho - contacted the player for a move to Stanford Bridge. The player would have earned twice as much if playing for the "blues" and Jose Mourinho had granted him with a place in the line-up squad. Still, Chelsea did not manage to keep the whole thing as quiet as possible, and Arsenal responded. Since the Premiership - and European - rules are stating, pretty clear, that any official is not to contact a player during his contract, Chelsea had to pay some huge fines.
The Portuguese coach had to pay a pretty big fine and was continuously criticized in the English media for his lack of fair-play, while Ashley Cole received a 130.000 euros fine from his club. So, instead of earning more for his new club, he had to pay for his wrongdoing. It seems that the conflict between the two - Wenger and Cole - is still very serious, since the technician was the one that found out about the whole deal. More, the Frenchman wanted to hear nothing about Cole's transfer to Stanford Bridge.
The months have passed and Cole is still playing for Arsenal. And it went pretty good for him until now, since he managed to maintain his position inside the English squad and reached the Champions League final with the "gunners". He will get married this weekend with Girls Aloud superstar Cheryl Tweedy, in what could mean one of the biggest spending weddings of the year. Thierry Henry, Sol Campbell, Frank Lampard, John Terry and Rio Ferdinand are only a few celebrity guests that will take part at the ceremony.
