Both focusing on staying healthy

Ashlee Simpson has always been a thin girl. Unlike her elder sister, Jessica, she never struggled with her weight, albeit admittedly rarely working out or sticking to any diet in particular. However, now that she’s a young mother, she must do something to shed the baby weight in the healthiest, most natural way possible. Thanks to the How Celebrities Lose Weight e-zine, below are some of the things that Ashlee does to shake off the 30 pounds she put on while pregnant.

Ashlee gave birth to a baby boy, Bronx Mowgli, in November 2008, but she’s already almost back to her former shape. She did this, she has repeatedly told the US media, by focusing on being a mother first and just letting nature run its course. For starters, she did not panic once the baby was born and she was all that much heavier, she says. Then again, neither did she continue to indulge all her cravings like she did before Bronx was born.

“Today I read on a blog that I went to the doctor and he said I was overweight and I cried and went to Planet Blue (because I was blue) and bought 6 pair of size 0 jeans. Now it is ridiculous to read such nonsense about oneself so I thought I would address this one… My doctor says I am right on target with my weight gain. […] Love my maternity jeans... they have stretchy tops it is awesome! My closet full of size 0s are being worn by Pete right now and he looks hot in them.” Ashlee revealed for her many fans in a post on her MySpace page right before giving birth.

“So now that I have cleared that up let me tell you… carrying a child is the most inspiring, emotional, amazing experience of my life. My weight and my pant size are the absolute last thing I am concerned about. I am only concerned with having a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. People who talk and judge pregnant women’s weight need to get a life!!!” she further pointed out.

As for the actual dieting and working out, Ashlee is a big fan of Nutrifit snacks and meals, of which she sneaks in as many as she can. As per her own words, she does not keep by one single diet, but tries to eat as healthy as possible. For instance, if husband Pete Wentz brings home pizza at night, she too has a slice, but only after she literally covers it in vegetables. As far as working out is concerned, Ashlee goes by the teachings of a book called “Body After Baby: The Simple 30-Day Plan to Lose Your Baby Weight,” which places emphasis on spending a lot time of with the baby, working out and bonding at the same time.

So far, Ashlee has done a wonderful job at losing the baby weight, as the paparazzi have also noted on her latest public outing the other night. When they say that less can occasionally be more, they must really know what they’re talking about.
