It's always funny when a celebrity is caught feasting on booze early in the morning - well, actually all celebrities are funny in the mornings, especially if they're asked tricky questions and they haven't run their answers past their publicists and representatives. Latest such victim of an early morning radio show appearance? Well, it's none other than the youngest Simpson sister, Ashlee. She was on Washington DC's Hot 99.5 Kane in the Morning show yesterday, and believe me, the whole thing was simply hilarious. She was largely incoherent, giggling the whole time and forgetting the lyrics of her own songs, which makes me think she was either still a little drunk, or that she's just about the world's most annoying (and silliest) person.
Later on the same day, her representative denied the singer was drunk and said that she was just tired. "Ashlee was absolutely not intoxicated this morning on Hot 99.5. She has been working extremely hard traveling across the country to promote her upcoming new album by performing at night and waking up very early the next day to do radio interviews in the morning - like any of us would be - she was simply just tired", he claims. But I have my doubts - primarily since during the interview, Ashlee admitted she had just got another tattoo that morning - and I figure you can't get a tattoo and still stay asleep at the same time, right? When they asked if her tattoo was a rose, Ashlee's slurry reply was "No it's a peoonieeeee".
An attempt to explain the lyrics to her new song was also largely unsuccessful. "The best line in the song is uh... you know... the come over line... uh... um... it's pretty genius... it's um... I'm not over it so come over... um... pretty genius... the girl kind of thing... um..." - well, you get the point, right? I have no idea why celebrities insist on doing radio interviews in the morning if they can't at least shake themselves up properly and prepare a little. I'm not asking too much - just a little coherence, a couple of completed sentences and no booze. Come on, that shouldn't be too hard to pull off.
