Pop singer Ashlee Simpson confessed she was very furious when she heard Avril Lavigne's comments about her doing
playback on US TV show Saturday Night Live. Simpson revealed she confronted Lavigne at a party, asking why did she say that she's not deserving to be on the SNL stage if she relied on backing tapes.
Simpson says: "I won't say anything bad about anyone, even if they talk about me.
"I hung out with Avril once and I said to her: 'Hey, I heard that you said some things,' and she was like: 'Sorry,' and that was cool. I'm not in high school and I don't need drama."
Ashlee Nicole Simpson, born October 3, 1984 in Dallas, Texas, is an American singer, actress and the younger sister of singer Jessica Simpson. She rose to prominence in mid-2004, when her first album, the now triple platinum Autobiography, debuted at number one in sales, accompanied by a successful reality show, The Ashlee Simpson Show.
In October 2004, she was accused of lip syncing when she was caught using a pre-recorded vocal track on the sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live. Simpson claimed she needed the track due to illness.
This highly publicized incident drew substantial negative attention from the press. In early 2005 she embarked on a successful two-month North American tour, and she is currently working on her second album.
