Ashampoo Snap reached a new release, which sees a batch of improvements for most of the components of the application. Version 5 sees new tools as well as extended functionality as far as image and video capturing are concerned.

Now you can use your computer’s webcam and microphone as a video recorder. Snap 5 from Ashampoo can also resize captured video in real-time. Moreover, the resolution of the captured video can be shrunk up to 75% of the original size.

Watermarking has been automated for both image and video capture. Starting this version of the software you can stamp the resulting file with text or a local image.

An important new development is the detection of menus when capturing images of other applications. Also, with the introduction of the timer you can take delayed and even timed captures, for automatic, repeated snapping.

The price remains pinned at $19.99 (€19.99).
