Asetek, a well-renowned cooling system manufacturer, has just announced that it will soon launch a universal LGA 2011 mounting kit that is compatible with all the closed-loop water coolers developed by the company.

The LGA 2011 socket will make its debut in the forth quarter of 2011 together with Intel's X79 chipset and with the company's first Sandy Bridge-E processors.

These will use a high-performance architecture, which is derived from the Sandy Bridge core, and target both overclockers and enthusiast users.

According to the reports that are available at this time, Intel's new processors will have a TDP of 130W, just as the current Guldtown CPUs, which means that most LGA 1366 coolers will be able to dissipate the heat produced by the chips as long as a suitable mounting system is available.

“Liquid Cooling Sandy Bridge E required a significant redesign of our mounting solution and our engineering team took advantage of this redesign to make this our easiest to install mounting system to date,” said Steve Branton, Asetek’s director of Marketing.

“The ring itself is stouter in appearance, the screws are easy to start thanks to the addition of thumb knobs, and the screw heads are recessed in the thumb knobs to prevent screw drivers from slipping off the screw and damaging motherboards.“

In addition to supporting the new Intel socket 2011, the redesigned Asetek mounting mechanism supports all popular Intel processors that utilize LGA 1155, 1156 and 1366 sockets.

Samples of Asetek’s Sandy Bridge E mounting kit will be available to OEMs and system integrators starting June 10th, 2011. Partner products for do-it-yourself and enthusiast customers are expected to begin reaching store shelves in August.

A large variety of LGA 2011 motherboards were showcased during this year's Computex 2011 fair, including models built by Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, and others.
