Cooling is one of the main aspects that have to be taken into consideration when building a high-performance computer system, as this is a factor that could determine the level of performance that a system can provide, as well as its lifespan. On that note, Asetek, one of the industry's leading vendors of liquid cooling solutions, has announced today that one of its cooling solutions has been adopted by Palo Alto, California-based Hewlett-Packard for the company's high-performance Z400 and Z800 workstations. With the new Asetek cooling, HP's high-end workstations can deliver the necessary performance without increasing the noise level.

“Liquid cooling enables a new world of enhanced user productivity enabled by whisper quiet computing. The ultra quiet Z400 and Z800 liquid cooled models are representative of an important new trend in performance computing - improving user productivity through low noise,” said Gary Baum, senior vice president of marketing for Asetek. “Asetek liquid cooling is the enabling technology for achieving quiet computing and high system performance.”

Featuring Asetek cooling solutions, HP's line of Z workstations can provide a high level of performance at operating levels that aren't disturbing to the end user. In addition, enabling an ultra-quiet cooling solution on the Z series workstations will provide customers with increased performance from the system's processing unit and graphics processor.

“HP is committed to designing breakthrough technologies into our award-winning HP Z Workstation line to deliver industry leading customer experience,” said Jeff Wood, director, Worldwide Marketing, Workstations, HP. “Asetek has provided a new standard for achieving low acoustics that perform at the high levels our customers demand.”

Liquid cooling solutions haven't been one of the main features for mainstream workstations, but have been a choice for high-performance desktops for computer enthusiasts. As far as Asetek's cooling products are concerned, these have been designed to provide users with a choice for a maintenance-free liquid cooling system.
