With the recent ratification of the new wireless 802.11n network connectivity standard, a number of networking solution providers have decided to roll out new, supporting products. That is also the case with the Sunnyvale, California-based Aruba Networks, which has just announced the debut of its new compact, dual-radio AP-105 802.11n Access Point. Designed to enable a higher adoption of the aforementioned connection standard, the AP-105 is said to deliver enterprise-grade security, while offering support for high throughput, streaming video support and other features that should provide customers with a high-quality wireless networking solution.

“While it was a technical challenge to integrate so much functionality into such an inexpensive and compact access point, we believe that by doing so Aruba has really differentiated the AP- 105 from products selling for up to twice the price,” said Keerti Melkote, Aruba's co-founder and chief technical officer. “The AP-105 targets customers in need of wire-like performance, a rich feature set, lifetime warranty, and very competitive pricing. Those who need redundant gigabit Ethernet ports, external antennas, 3x3 MIMO, and/or FIPS 140-2 validation will find a solution in our award-winning AP-124 and AP-125 802.11n Access Points. Between the AP-105 and AP-120 series we have the entire indoor 802.11n market covered.”

Measuring just 132mm x 135mm x 45mm, the AP-105 is said to weigh just 300 grams, providing a compact wireless networking solution for those looking to upgrade their networks to the latest 802.11n technology. According to the company, the key features of the AP-105 include support for up to 300Mbps speeds, 802.3af PoE standard, TPM (Trusted Platform Module) technology and Adaptive Radio Management (APM) for enhanced performance through management of client behavior.

Designed to provide users with an alternative for 802.11n connection support, the new access point from Aruba Networks is listed at a price tag of US$695, according to the company.
