A Turkish artist named Şakir Gökçebağ has recently decided to take some fruits and vegetables and turn them into rather impressive works of art.

While many frowned at one artist's ideas to massacre countless butterflies for the sake of art, Şakir Gökçebağ' can only be appreciated.

Apparently, his main goal was to prove that, although fruits and vegetables – and food, in general – usually go unnoticed in the rush to get things done, they are nonetheless quite “miraculous” and should be given significantly more attention.

As Tree Hugger points out, mothers usually tell their kids not to play with food, yet if one chooses to play with it and ends up making art, nobody can really complain about it.

Some of the fruits and vegetables turned into art by Şakir Gökçebağ are watermelons, peppers, apples, beans and pomegranates.
