He promises full-color 3D printing of simple and complex, even artistic objects

Full-color 3D printing has proven pretty tricky to pull off, but Joshua Harker promises not just that, but a shape complexity and material support not seen before in this technology category. He even has a list!

And he only needs five hundred dollars to make it happen. Well, the finished 3D printer will cost around a thousand when it's complete, but the Kickstarter campaign only needs to raise $500 / €500. Which has already happened several times over really.

So what's the deal with his 3D printer? We can't know for sure, since he's holding out on the details until every technology is patented.

He did give some expectation guidelines though, mentioning multi-material printing in full tonal colors, 2X better resolution than currently available, a high-speed production option (25mm per hour build), a non-structural and reusable support system (you can make interconnected parts & floating assemblies if you want) and no need for special part orientation, machine setup, or post processing (basically, it's plug & play).

That's a really nice list, and you can see the awesome flower arrangement above if you want proof that the 3D printer can deliver on these promises.

The print is made of nylon, but ABS, PP, PE, PS, PVC, acrylic plastics are supported too, as well as elastomers, wax, graphene (you read it right) and other conductive materials (it means you can even make in-model circuits).
