Even if a fake message is malware-free, it's still considered spam

One of the more recent hoaxes that’s circulating via email and social networking websites features Julia Gillard, Australia’s Prime Minister.

In what seems to be an attempt to stain her image as a politician, crooks modified an article written during the elections where she lists the things she will fight for it elected, reports Hoax Slayer.

While 90% of the article is legitimate, the last part has been altered to state that she understood and sympathized with the gay cause, she being one herself. In reality, the original article only mentions that she encourages action on women’s rights, anti-nuclear policy and gay rights.

“I think we have all heard about it and wondered.....now we know,” writes the message that accompanies the article clipping.

Individuals are advised to avoid such phony messages and refer from spreading them since even if the message doesn’t carry any malicious elements, it’s still considered spamming.
