About a month ago, we presented you a picture of a devoted owner who was trying to do his best in easing the suffering of his arthritic dog.

Thus, Unger took Schoep to Lake Superior as often as he could, and allowed the animal to float on the water as this helped relieve the pressure on his joints.

Back then, we said that the 19-year-old dog had little chances of making a recovery, yet recent news on this topic informs us that, thanks to unsolicited donations sent in by people who were deeply touched by Schoep's story allowed his owner to pay for laser treatments.

“Schoep is doing incredible right now. The therapies that the people have donated--it's like turning back the clock a year and a half,” Unger told members of the press.

“He's walking so much faster. It's unbelievable,” he added.

Following this life changing experience, Unger decided to set the basis for a foundation intended to help families with low incomes look after their dogs even when the latter start having various issues because of old age.
