Nate Wells, art director on previous projects at developer Naughty Dog, announces that he is leaving the company and the currently in development Uncharted project in order to take a new position at Giant Sparrow, a smaller company that has created The Unfinished Swan.

The announcement was made on Twitter, and the developer has not offered any reason for his departure so far.

Developer Naughty Dog and publisher Sony have not made any comment on the decision made by Nate Wells.

Giant Sparrow was associated with the Sony Computer Entertainment studio in Santa Monica.

Nate Wells is the third major developer to depart Naughty Dog after Justin Richmond, who was a game director, chose to join Riot Games, while creative director Amy Hennig joined Visceral Games in order to work on a new Star Wars title.

It’s unclear whether the development effort for the new Uncharted title is being affected by all the departures but, at the moment, it seems that actual gameplay from the game will be revealed during the upcoming E3 2014.

Naughty Dog has not offered a launch window for the title, which will only be released on the PlayStation 4.

Fans have speculated that the company might introduce a very different setting and might even change the main character of the game.
