Arsene Wenger is getting a little tired of this whole Ashley Cole
dilemma. One day, the player is playing for Arsenal, the other he's playing for rivals Chelsea. The Frenchman doesn't know what to do. Should he appoint Cole in Arsenal's first leg against Dinamo Zagreb? Should he count on him in the Premiership? These are questions without any answers for the moment.
Of course, we all know that Cole is close on signing with Chelsea. But he's been like that for the past 2 weeks and nothing really changed. Cole is still with Arsenal and the deadline for his move is getting closer and closer. Should Wenger use Cole in Arsenal's second leg against Dinamo Zagreb, Chelsea will not be able to use him in the CL this season.
And the French coach gave the media a time-limit for Cole's transfer. "For me, the deadline has come to make a decision one way or another and I would see this week as the limit", said Wenger.
His relationship with the defender is not considered as being a good one. After Arsene's discovery almost a year ago - when Cole was negotiating his way out of Arsenal without his club's knowledge - the player was fined 120.000 euros. From that point on, Cole did not want to hear about extending his contract with the gunners.
Arsenal made a clear statement about their willingness to sell the player to rivals Chelsea earlier this week. The gunners did not appoint the English defender to their Champions League 1st leg against Dinamo Zagreb. This way, Cole could stay in England and continue talks with the Chelsea officials and "the blues" will be able to use him in this European season.
